Our Mission Statement
As God's family, we are called to witness to our faith in Christ, to hear, live and proclaim His Word daily, through worship, service, and education, including Lebanon Lutheran School. In this way we proclaim the meaning of our name Immanuel - "God is With Us", and everyone else.
On April 3, 2011 the members of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Lebanon voted to become a member congregation of the North American Lutheran Church, www.thenalc.org. The NALC is committed to shaping its life around four attributes: Christ-Centered, Mission-Driven, Traditionally-Grounded, and Congregationally-Focused. As Lutherans, we affirm the authority of the Bible and accept the great ecumenical creeds (The Apostles' Creed, the Nicene Creed, and the Athanasian Creed) and the Lutheran Confessions as faithful affirmations and interpretations of Scripture.
Worship begins at 8:30 a.m. each Sunday. We also offer Wednesday worship services during Lent and Advent, and other services on special days throughout the year. Children's Church is held from Sept-Mar during Sunday morning worship (see Children's Ministry below).
Holy Communion is celebrated every Sunday and during most other services. We have an open Communion policy. All baptized Christians who believe Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior and believe that Jesus is truly present in the bread and the wine are welcome. Wine is offered in the Common Cup and in individual cups. Grape Juice is available.
Kindergarten - 8th graders from Lebanon Lutheran School sing on a rotating basis at Immanuel and St. Peter's churches. Pastor offers a children's sermon every Sunday. The Sunday School children also sing at worship and participate in Easter and Christmas services, through plays and music. The Pastor holds Confirmation Classes for LLS students (7th & 8th grade) during school hours. Classes for Public School students are held on Wednesday evening.
Church members are involved in worship service in various was: as lay readers, communion assistants, acolytes, greeters, ushers, instrumentalists or soloists, choirs and other ensembles. Music groups include "God's Plan"- a contemporary singing group the 2nd Sunday of each month.
We have an elevator for those who need it. Hearing assistance devices are also available. Our Sanctuary is equipped with a "listening loop" device that sends a signal from the sound system to hearing aids equipped with this feature.
